Fueled by strong winds and a dry summer, fire has swept across Maui, starting in the tranquil town of Lahaina, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. We at Melomys have watched with heavy hearts as these communities grapple with the scale of this disaster.
Among those affected are several of our treasured partners in Lahaina. These individuals and businesses are more than just partners to us; they are family. Their safety and well-being are of paramount importance to us. In these trying times, we want to extend our deepest concerns and well wishes to them. We are actively reaching out, checking on their status, and offering any support that we can provide.
The environmental disaster calls on us at Melomys to stand together in times of crisis, to lend a helping hand to our neighbors, and to contribute to the collective effort of rebuilding and healing. While Melomys is small, we are stepping up.
From now through September 30th, Melomys will donate 5% of profits towards Maui United Way to support those impacted by the Maui Fires. We understand that the road to recovery will be long and challenging, but we also believe in the resilience of people and that we can come together to make a positive impact.
